Welcome to Wivenhoe Open-Air Shakespeare!

We have been performing a Shakespeare play each summer since 2012, in gardens and outdoor spaces around Wivenhoe in Essex.

Performers of all ages from 8 to 80-plus include long-term enthusiasts and newcomers to the Bard. New members are always welcome.

We hold workshops during the autumn and spring when we explore Shakespeare’s language and scenes from the plays. All are welcome to attend.

Spring workshop dates: Jan 4th, 18th, Feb 1st,  7.30-9.30, Congregational Hall.

Pop-Up Shakespeare  happens in October. This one-off show including a variety of scenes, speeches, songs, madrigals and recorder music from Shakespeare’s time.

The summer show for 2019 will be MACBETH, 25th-29th June, in St Mary’s Churchyard.

There will be a read-through for anyone interested on 8th and 15th February, 7.30pm, and auditions will be on Sunday 24th February at the Congregational Hall.

Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons beginning on Sunday 24th March.
